Up •Printing Your Images •Rechargeable Batteries •Using A Flash •Your First Digital Camera
One of the things we forget about using the flash on a digital camera is that the optimal distance between you and your subject is only about 4 to 7 feet or so, check your cameras manual. Being too close and using the flash might leave your image washed out . Being too far and may render your images dark.
I'd recommend doing some practice shots before the main event. That's real easy with a digital camera as you can simply erase the images when your practice is done.
You may even want to force the flash to be on when the sun is high during the day. You'll be doing a "fill flash" which will lighten or erase the shadows normally seen on faces.
Finally, there are times you'll want to disable your flash so that you can capture the mood of an evening scene. Just remember that if the lights are real low, use a tripod.
