Are You Helping Spammers?

Every so often I would receive an email from a friend telling me of something I should be aware of and asking me to forward it to friends and family.  While some of these are worth forwarding know that there is a right and wrong way to forward a message.   You want to avoid exposing all your email addresses to others.  When someone receives a message from you and simply forwards it to other, your email addresses are forwarded in the body as well.   When forwarding an email, put all your addresses in the bcc field instead of  To and CC. Addresses in the bcc line are hidden from everyone else except the addressee.  This way, you will help to avoid others using your email addresses for spamming purposes.  Some email clients will require you to put at least one address in the To field so you can send it to yourself here.
